Restyling an old-fashioned stole

Restyling an old-fashioned stole

Do you have a fur stole that your grandma gave you?

It's beautiful, but you never wear it because it's a little old-fashioned. You were thinking about throwing it away but then wondered if it could be restyled and made into something new and stylish.

In this blog post, I'm going to show you how I recently restyled an old-fashioned, family heirloom stole and turned it into a stunning, modern and super-stylish vest.

Old Fashioned Fur Stole

This is what it looked like before the restyling began.

When restyling any fur, I first start with producing a pattern using muslin. Once the initial muslin piece has been fashioned, a fitting is required to ensure a custom fit.

I then carefully took apart the stole and cut the pieces to fit the new design.

These images show just how many individual pieces need to get cut to ensure the proper fit and style.

Lastly, of course, the lining needs to be added as the finishing touch. I use only high-end fabrics to complement the luxurious fur and ensure that you can enjoy this piece for many years to come.

And how did it end up looking? Well, see for yourself. Isn't it amazing?

If you have a family heirloom fur you simply cannot say goodbye to but don't dare to wear because it is so outdated, give me a shout and let's discuss your special restyling project.
